New Segregation

“The New Segregation” is a narrative-driven project that examines posthumanism, genetic engineering, and systemic inequality through the construction of a speculative social order. Set in a dystopian future shaped by ecological collapse, pandemics, and the expansion of biopolitical control, the series imagines a society in which the promise of survival becomes the justification for genetically crossbreeding humans with animals. Presented as a necessary response to global crisis, this process establishes a new world order built upon permanent biological segregation.
Human–animal hybrids are organized into rigid castes according to economic status, making social mobility biologically impossible. Drawing on literary and political allegory, the series assigns symbolic animal identities to each class, exposing how systems of power become inscribed onto the body itself. Conceived as an unfolding visual narrative, each painting functions as an autonomous work while contributing to the broader history of this fictional world.
Although set in an imagined future, the project reflects contemporary concerns surrounding inequality, environmental crisis, and the politics of exclusion. Against a society founded on control and division, forbidden relationships across biological and social boundaries become the first acts of resistance, suggesting that the possibility of transformation begins wherever imposed hierarchies are challenged.
